چکیده

This paper describes a method of initialising an Active-Mesh that is to be automatically created and configured directly from a single frame of an image sequence. The aim of this approach is to use the derived mesh to perform visual tracking in unconstrained motion environments, allowing movement of the camera, the scene and even the inclusion of background-independent moving objects. The problem in initialising this mesh comes from the fact that there is no a priori information about the scene available. The paper will discuss met hods that are currently available for determining the initial position of active contour models within images, then suggesting a method of initialising an active mesh.

A topology control based self-organisation in wireless mesh networks

An algorithm for self-organisation that assigns the channels intelligently in Multi-Radio Wireless Mesh Networks (MR-WMN) is important for the proper operation of MR-WMN. The aim of the self-organisation algorithm is to reduce the overall interference and increase the aggregate capacity of the network. In this paper, we have first proposed a generic selforganisation algorithm that addresses the...

Initialisation of volume fraction in fluid / structure interaction problem

In this paper, an algorithm that generates volume fraction initialisation for fluid-structure interaction problems is presented and implemented in an Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) code. This algorithm improves the flexibility and efficiency of multi-material ALE formulations, enabling fluid-structure coupling problems to be dealt with, in which complex-shaped structures are embedded in a ...

Shingle 2.0: generalising self-consistent and automated domain discretisation for multiscale, unstructured mesh geophysical models

The approaches taken to describe and develop spatial discretisations of the domains required for geophysical simulation models are commonly ad hoc, model or application specific and under-documented. This is particularly acute for simulation models that are flexible in their use of multi-scale, anisotropic, fully unstructured meshes where a relatively large number of heterogeneous parameters ar...

Initialisation and Termination of Active Contour Level-Set Evolutions

This paper deals with the evolution control of level-sets in the context of contour detection. There is a considerable amount of existing work on PDEs for geodesic contour detection and the investigation of level-set implementations has recently resulted in efficient and stable numerical realisations of the differential evolution. This paper is based on a finite element implementation for signe...

Sparse MRF Appearance Models for Fast Anatomical Structure Localisation

Image segmentation methods like active shape models, active appearance models or snakes require an initialisation that guarantees a considerable overlap with the object to be segmented. In this paper we present an approach that localises anatomical structures in a global manner by means ofMarkov Random Fields (MRF). It does not need initialisation, but finds the most plausible match of the quer...
